Appearance
One of the main reasons ash is used in interior design is its attractive appearance. With varying colours, from creamy white to light brown, it can serve up a natural finish or a blank canvas for you to paint or stain over for a customised look – perfect for modern homes. Its grain patterns are often straight, fine, and unique, meaning there’ll only be one staircase like yours. It also works well with most other home furnishings.
Flexibility
Ash is a versatile timber, with stair parts able to be cut into an array of different shapes and sizes. Its elasticity means it is used in all kinds of staircases, including straight, L-shaped, curved or even spiral designs. And even if you opt for a more traditional ladder-style design, using ash will allow you to bring some added creativity to it through other stair parts like curved handrails, spindles, and newel posts. Screws and nails also are easily worked into the wood too for seamless connections.
