Square Twist FAQs
Our Square Twist range consists of two different types of twisted stair spindles:
• Quarter twist spindles - these feature an elegant quarter twist. Quarter twist spindles, such as our Pine Square Twist Spindles, are perfect if you want a more subtle look in your hallway.
• Double twist spindles - these feature a more impressive double twist where the middle section has been twisted 360 degrees. Double twist spindles make a beautiful feature in any home. Our Oak Double Twist Spindles are a great choice if you want a traditional wooden staircase with an added element of interest.
If you’re not keen on the look of your existing stairs, replacing the spindles can be a cost-effective alternative to replacing the entire staircase. Swapping out your old traditional spindles for one of our contemporary twisted spindles will add a modern feel to any home.
The good news is that replacing your spindles is a relatively straightforward project that is suitable for confident DIYers. Of course, you can also pay for professional installation if you don’t feel able to handle it yourself.
It can be difficult to know the correct number of spindles for your staircase because not all steps are equal. Our helpful spindle spacing calculator makes it simple to work out exactly how many spindles your staircase requires. All you need is your spindle size, type and the measurements of your stairs and landing.
