Brass FAQs
Brass stair handrail brackets are a fantastic choice of wall brackets because they are:
• Unique - There is a specific classical appearance to brass and this is shown greatly through the handrail brackets they produce. As a result, these antique brass stair rail brackets will provide your staircase with a unique feel.
• Versatile - Brass stair rail brackets look great amongst most woods. Brass looks particularly good with brighter shades of wood, such as pine.
• Flexible - Part of the unique nature of brass stair handrail brackets is that they work well with a range of staircase designs.
Brass plated stair parts can last anywhere from 40 to 70 years. Because it is heavier than copper, brass usually lasts longer; however, it is susceptible to the same corrosion over time.
Brass stair brackets come in two main designs. These include:

Before choosing your brass stair railing parts, here are some question to ask yourself:
• Does your brass stair handrail bracket match your staircase aesthetic?
• How expensive is the brass stair bracket?
• What style are you looking for?
• What woods are you pairing your brass stair bracket with?
• Do you want to add a decorative touch to your staircase?
At Jackson Woodturners, we offer alternative brass stair handrail brackets including:

• Chrome - These types of stair brackets are much bolder than others. Their dazzling, refined finish looks superb in modern staircases.
• Black Metal - These stair brackets make a sleek, innovative edition to home designs. The brackets themselves are perfect for creating a bold, sophisticated appearance.
Glass stairs will collect dirt and grime in the same way that any other staircase would, however it will be much more visible. The main offenders are fingerprints and dust, which are easy to clean away. Simply wipe your glass stairs down with glass cleaner and a microfibre cloth any time they start to look dirty.
Glass panels for stairs are made from tempered glass, which is typically 8mm to 10mm thick. The toughening process involves subjecting the glass to high heat, around 700 degrees Celsius, which is known as quenching. This creates a strong layer on both sides of the glass, locking in tensions in the core of the glass. As a result of this, glass becomes four times as strong, providing maximum reliability.
